Kinzie will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.
Following orders from the state, the district is preparing to close all schools beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Thursday, the end of the school year. We encourage families to stay home unless seeking medical care.
Yesterday evening, ISBE issued new guidance on grading during the school closure due to COVID-19. ISBE stated: “Student work completed during the mandated statewide school closure must not negatively impact a student’s grades or otherwise impact a student’s academic standing.
Based on this new guidance, teachers can choose to grade and count student work completed during the closure in Aspen as long as it helps improve a students’ academic standing.
Regardless of grading changes, teachers feel students should complete their assignments so they are prepared when they return from the closure.
