Please follow directions and research schools that your child is eligible for. Many tools are available on this website to do so. Even if your student is considering Kennedy, they should choose Kennedy. If parochial/Catholic schools are being considered, it is still recommended that students activate and do their research, as they will be required to do so for post-secondary options. Good habits to begin early. If a parent needs assistance, please feel free to contact the Counselor. An 8th Grade Google Classroom has been created specifically for your students.
IMPORTANT TESTING INFORMATION:
October 26th, 2022- CPS High School Admissions Exam for CPS Students for CPS Public Schools & Charter High Schools.
The exam will be administered for ALL 8th grade students at their home school.
Private (Catholic) School Applications:
All students applying to Catholic high schools must take an entrance exam.
Exam Date: December 3rd, 2022.
Please be aware of exam details that are specific to the school you’re interested in. Each school has information about the test and associated fees on their website. It is Important to contact the school for more details or with any questions.
IEPS and 504 Plans:
If your student has an IEP or a 504 Plan with testing accommodations, CPS schools will have access electronically via your child’s CPS ID# once your child has registered. If your child will be taking an entrance exam at a Catholic school, you should hand deliver a copy of any testing accommodations two weeks before the date of the entrance exam to the school and talk to a representative to ensure that any testing accommodations can be prepared prior to the testing date.
